I'm Kate, the founder of Shiny Happy Holistics.
My journey into the holistic world began in my late teens when I studied aromatherapy and physiology, inspired by a long-standing interest in holistic healing and wellbeing. Like many people, life took me in different directions and those passions were placed on hold while I focused on other areas of life and raising my family.
As my children grew older, I finally found the time to reconnect with the things I had always loved, spirituality and holistic therapies. Over the past few years, I’ve dedicated myself to learning, growing and deepening my knowledge, achieving a diploma in aromatherapy, crystal healing and becoming Reiki I and II attuned.
In 2022, I took a leap of faith and began selling crystals at The Warehouse Antiques and Collectables in Setchey. What started as one small cabinet of crystals has gradually grown into six beautiful displays filled with hand-picked crystals, incense, holistic products and spiritual tools that I genuinely love sharing with others.
Building Shiny Happy Holistics and watching it grow has been incredibly rewarding. In May 2025, I took the next step in my holistic journey by beginning to offer Reiki sessions alongside the products I stock. My aim has always been to create a welcoming, supportive space that encourages wellbeing, positivity and a little bit of happiness for everyone who visits.
what's in a name?
The name Shiny Happy Holistics came together quite naturally and perfectly reflects both my journey and what I hope to share with others.
Shiny was inspired by crystals (you probably guessed that already!), but it also represents that little spark that returns after taking meaningful time for yourself. That lighter, brighter feeling that comes from slowing down, recharging and reconnecting.
Happy reflects how crystals and holistic therapies make me feel, and it’s how I hope you’ll feel too. Whether you’re browsing crystals or leaving a Reiki session feeling calmer, more balanced and supported, my goal is to create a positive and uplifting experience.
Holistics represents the direction the business naturally grew into. Whilst I started with selling crystals, I had always hoped to work within the holistic field. Studying aromatherapy and crystals and then becoming Reiki attuned felt like a natural next step and allowed me to expand the ways I can support wellbeing and self-care.
For centuries, crystals have been treasured for their beauty, energy and spiritual significance. Many people believe they can help encourage balance, positive energy and a deeper sense of connection within the mind, body and soul.
